Volunteering at our sanctuary is a fun and rewarding experience and has a lasting impact on the rescued animals who call our sanctuary home.
We welcome volunteer groups throughout the spring and summer months, to help care for our rescued animals and keep our sanctuary looking its best.

Want to see your boss shovelling pig poo? Or compete with your colleagues to see who can build the cosiest nest for our hens? Our corporate volunteer days are a great way to get out in the fresh air, have fun and do good for our animals too!

From day-to-day tasks around the sanctuary right through to helping build our latest project – there are lots of ways you can get stuck in.
Here are some of the tasks our volunteers help out with:
Our Volunteer Days are led by our friendly Visitor & Education Manager, Morgan. With a Masters in Anthrozoology, Morgan is passionate about improving the welfare of animals and has experience of hosting fun, engaging and educational visits for all ages.
To prepare for your visit, please ensure you have the following items:
What we provide: We provide tea/coffee and water during your visit as well as a delicious cold vegan platter at lunchtime. We will also provide any additional items as needed for some tasks i.e. gloves
Due to the staff time needed for volunteer visits, we can only host a minimum of four people per day. If you’d like to volunteer as an individual, head over to our Vacancies page to take a look at our remote volunteer roles or fill in our form below to be notified about future opportunities for individuals.
As we are a small team, we can only welcome groups with a maximum number of 8 people. This keeps things manageable for our staff and allows for a more personal experience with the animals.
Please note, there are some occasions when we may be able to host larger group sizes for Corporate Visits. If you would like to enquire about bringing a group of more than 8, please email jodie@goodheart.org.uk
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the successful running of our sanctuary, however, as a small charity, we need to make sure we cover the staff time and equipment needed to host these visits. Your donation not only allows us to continue welcoming volunteers to our sanctuary, but also goes towards the care of our rescued animals too.
Yes! We can work with you to plan a Volunteer Day that is suitable for those with health conditions, impairments, or specific requirements. However, please note that, as we are a working farm animal sanctuary, some areas of our site are not suitable for those with limited mobility.

We also offer Corporate Away Days here at our sanctuary – a great way to show appreciation to hard working staff or to celebrate a company milestone. These can be tailored to your requirements and include things like team-building activities, workshops, games and educational talks or hire of our Visitor Room.

We’re looking to expand our volunteer programme with the view to hosting Volunteer Days which would be set dates in the year where you can come and help out at our sanctuary, either as a group or an individual. We’re always on the lookout for fabulous fundraisers who can help raise vital funds for our rescued animals and shout about the work we do. There are lots of fun ways to get involved and you’ll feel great knowing you’ve helped rescued animals live their best possible lives.
Our highly popular annual Open Day takes place each summer at our farm animal sanctuary in Worcestershire. If you’d like to come along and lend a hand, we have lots of jobs available, from helping to direct cars through to supervising our animal areas.
