Winter Hay & Straw Appeal

Between November and April, we use huge amounts of hay and straw to keep our 200+ rescued animals fed, warm, and comfortable.

With less grass available, hay supplements their diet, while straw lines barns and shelters – all adding to our regular costs for food, vet care, and running the sanctuary.

Every donation makes a difference

Every donation helps us continue caring for our rescued animals through the coldest months.

With your support, we can make sure every one of them has a warm bed, plenty of food, and the safety they deserve after everything they’ve been through.

Please give what you can today to help keep them cosy and well fed this winter.

Flora the hen

Flora's story

Before arriving at our sanctuary, Flora spent her life in a dark, cramped egg-laying facility with hundreds of other hens. Conditions were stressful, with no space for dust bathing, nesting, or any of the things hens love to do. Once her egg production slowed, she would have been sent for slaughter. Thankfully, Flora was rescued and has a home for life here at Goodheart. Now she enjoys freedom, fresh air, and her very own cosy coop filled with straw.

Help us keep hens like Flora stocked up with warm, fresh bedding this winter by making a donation today.
