Volunteer at our Open Day

We’re looking to recruit friendly and reliable volunteers to help out at our Open Day on Saturday 6th September at Goodheart Animal Sanctuary.

Event address: Goodheart Farm Animal Sanctuary, The Nickless, Milson, Worcestershire DY14 0BE

Date/time: Saturday 6th September 2025

Skills/Experience needed

  • Reliable
  • Friendly
  • Punctual
  • Must be able to commit to at least 3 hours of volunteering between 10am and 4pm on the day.
  • That’s it! No prior experience needed.

Volunteering roles

We need help in the following areas:

  • Parking field – directing cars in our field.
  • Stewards – manning key areas of our site, ensuring members of the public stay within our boundary, and directing visitors to different areas.
  • General – you might be asked to help out a member of our team in their area, e.g. checking tickets or replenishing stock.

What we offer

  • FREE entry to our Open Day (normally £5 per person per day) PLUS 4 free tickets for you to give to friends and family.
  • We’ll also provide you with a snazzy high vis volunteer vest to wear and treat you to a tea, coffee, or cold drink before or after your shift.
  • That warm fuzzy feeling that comes with helping an animal sanctuary by being a fabulous volunteer!

About the event

Our Open Day takes place across our 92-acre site on the Worcestershire/Shropshire border and is our biggest event of the year. Visitors will have the chance to meet many of our rescued animals and explore key areas of the sanctuary, including the Pig Woodland, Goat Village, Pig Barn, and Outdoor Education Area. There’ll be a range of vegan food vendors on site, educational talks from leading charities, market stalls, and a number of children’s activities. We’ll be expecting a good turnout, so we’ll need support across the day with things like parking, admissions, activities, and general visitor guidance. Free field parking will be available, and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Learn more here.
