Goodheart Adoption Box Volunteer

Would you like to help us spread the Goodheart joy?

We are looking for a volunteer who could help us out at our sanctuary by assembling our animal adoption and Hearts of Gold membership boxes.

Tasks will include:

  • Folding and making up the adoption boxes from flatpack
  • Packing the boxes with their contents
  • Stock checking of all adoption pack materials so a member of the team can order more when needed

About you:

  • Able to commit to at least one day per month – possibly more if adoption orders rise.Extra hours may be needed during the festive season
  • Must live within 20 minutes of Goodheart Farm Animal Sanctuary (our address is: The Nickless, Milson, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, DY14 0BE
  • Due to the remote location of the sanctuary, you must have access to your own transport.
  • Applicants must be over the age of 18

Animal Care Assistant

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Role Summary

Goodheart Animal Sanctuaries (GHAS) is a charity established to provide care and attention for animals in need. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual with a passion for farm animal welfare to join the team. The individual will support the efforts of the charity to provide a safe and happy environment for all animals being cared for at the site whilst promoting the values of GHAS.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of animal husbandry for a variety of species in the care of GHAS including cattle, sheep, horses, pigs and chickens.
  • Ensure best working practices are maintained with regards to health and safety of staff, volunteers, work experience, contractors and any visitors to the site.
  • Assist with the collection, transportation and arrival of new animals to the site.
  • Carry out basic maintenance of the site including mowing, strimming and cleaning.
  • Ensure animal paddocks, equipment, tools and vehicles are maintained and necessary repairs are reported.
  • In time you may be required to interact with visitors to best promote GHAS and its values.
  • This role will require regular weekend work.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Animal Management or equivalent/ relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience working with a variety of animals providing high standards of husbandry and care.
  • Full, clean Driver’s License.
  • Experience in engaging with the public.
  • Basic knowledge of practical tool use including strimmers and blowers.
  • Experience working as part of a team including volunteers and work experience students.

Volunteer Animator

Are you an enthusiastic animator looking to expand your portfolio? We’d love to hear from you.

We’re loking for a Volunteer Animator to help spread our message through the power of animation. We want to produce snappy and engaging videos which will be used to support our Education and Communication teams. These videos are likely to include a variety of illustrations and statistics to support our compassionate messaging.

About you:

  • Able to produce short animated films.
  • You may be particularly interested in illustrating animals or the environment.
  • You may be looking to expand your current portfolio.

 

Location:

  • This is a home-based role but you will be invited to visit the sanctuary if it is convenient for you.

 

Days and times:

  • Full flexibility to suit you.
