TALK: We officially open the day with a warm welcome to Goodheart over in our Main Barn
CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP: Our Visitor & Education Manager Abby will run a 45 minute children’s workshop. The workshop will be suitable for ages 5 to 10 and will involve a guided walk around the Nature Trail, gathering materials to make a ‘Journey Stick’. Book on here.

If you have booked a ticket to our Open Weekend, you should have received a confirmation email from us. If this hasn’t arrived, please check your Junk/Spam folder, or, if it’s not in there, please email us at info@goodheart.org.uk and we will organise for this to be re-sent. There are no physical tickets for this event – on arrival, you will simply be asked to provide the full name under which you booked.
Current Hearts of Gold members are entitled to free entry to our Open Day, however, to give us an idea of numbers and help us to locate your booking more easily on the day, please do let us know if you are a Hearts of Gold member and you are planning to attend by emailing us at info@goodheart.org.uk
Most apps and sat navs will bring you right to Goodheart Farm Animal Sanctuary using postcode DY14 0BE however we do advise that you plan your route in advance and take a look at our web page here all about how to find us. You can also look out for our two large banners which will be on either side of our sanctuary entrance. Unfortunately, we will not be reachable via phone to offer directions on the day.
The roads around our sanctuary are very narrow and winding so please take due care and attention when arriving or leaving.
We do have on-site field parking, however, please do car-share with family and friends where possible to prevent excessive traffic in the narrow lanes around the sanctuary. On arrival, you will be shown where to park by one of our stewards. If you are a blue badge holder, our stewards will direct you to the parking area closer to our main yard.
Card machines will be on hand over the weekend, however, some stalls only accept cash, such as our Raffle and Animal Feed Table, so please bring cash with you if possible. Please note we do not have a cash machine/ATM on site.
The nearest cash points to us are as follows:
Dogs are permitted at our Open Weekend, provided they are friendly and kept on a lead at all times. Please do not let your dog approach any of our animals. Please note, we do not allow visitors to leave dogs unattended in cars while visiting our sanctuary.
Our Open Weekend will go ahead unless extreme weather is forecast. Our tombola, raffle, merchandise stalls and refreshment tables are situated in the barn under cover. Our outdoor workshops will take place outside rain or shine so please bring a coat and suitable footwear. We also ask that your prepare for very hot weather by bringing suitable sun protection.
Our main yard area is fully wheelchair accessible, as is our Outdoor Education Area. The rest of our site is accessed over fields and sometimes rough and uneven tracks.
There is a downstairs bathroom in our main charity building, which is reached via a small step. The width of the doorway is 27 inches/68.5cm. When on-site, please let one of our volunteers know if you wish to use the bathroom and we can direct you.
Around our site there will be volunteers in high vis vests carrying collection buckets for donations. These buckets also have QR codes and NFC chips which allow you to make donations through your phone via Apple Pay or Android Pay. You can also make a donation in cash at our Fundraising stall in our Main Barn.
As we are a very small charity, refunds are processed at our descretion.
