Back in September 2017, while we were still working on our brand-new sanctuary, we were contacted to help a number of animals in need. Of course, we simply couldn’t say no.
We put facilities in place as quickly as possible to keep up with demand and soon welcomed our very first residents. From then, the sanctuary continued to grow and now our Animal Care Team look after over 300 rescued farm animals. These are the lucky ones who will never again have to face abuse or mistreatment and will live out their lives in a safe and loving environment.
Set in 92 tranquil acres, the sanctuary has everything each of our residents needs to live their lives in the most natural way possible. Each resident has a safe, cosy place to sleep, and the freedom to explore their large pastures all day long.
We pride ourselves on providing an excellent standard of care for our rescued animals. This means not only caring for all of their physical needs (with high-quality food, routine care and veterinary attention) but also providing enrichment to keep their minds ticking.
We often find ourselves spending time helping our pigs build new wallows, adding to our popular goat climbing frame, or getting creative with fruits on strings to keep our hens busy – anything to make sure our animals enjoy sanctuary life as much as possible.
