Outreach Officer Goodheart Animal Sanctuaries

We're hiring

Outreach and Education Development Officer

Goodheart Animal Sanctuaries is looking to recruit an Outreach and Education Development Officer.

Goodheart is a registered charity whose main project is the creation of a farm animal sanctuary near Cleobury Mortimer. Opened in 2017, the sanctuary is now home to over 250 rescued animals. Our aim is to promote the importance of farmed animals as individual sentient beings and encourage people to embrace a more plant-based lifestyle for the benefit of themselves and the planet, as well as the animals.

With the rescued animals, we now have our ambassadors. Their individual stories and personalities are ready and waiting to help us promote our message.

From the perspective of wanting to deliver clear, well researched and engaging information, we are looking for someone to become part of our small team to research, develop and implement a programme that encompasses attracting schools to visit; further developing our monthly Visitor Days and annual Open Day; developing web content and creating content for our Visitor and Education Room. We also want to investigate opportunities working with local councils and various education bodies through to animal-assisted therapy.

The successful candidate will work alongside our sanctuary and marketing teams and will be expected to secure grants to cover the education and outreach work for Goodheart within two to three years. As we are a small team, you will also be expected to help out with general admin for the charity. The position will primarily be based at our sanctuary near Cleobury Mortimer, and there will be travel to fulfil outreach projects.

Please send your CV and covering letter to Alison Hood, Project Director at alison@goodheartanimalsanctuaries.com

The closing date for applications is May 24th 2019.
