The past few years have been incredibly tough for our sanctuary.
As a small charity, we’ve seen our running costs rise sharply – from animal feed, vet bills, hay and straw, to wages, utilities, and even the cost of supplies like merchandise. The recent government budget added even more pressure with a significant rise in National Insurance contributions, meaning we now face even higher day-to-day expenses just to keep things going.
At the same time, the cost-of-living crisis is hitting everyone hard – and we completely understand that. More and more people are having to cancel direct debits or reduce their donations. According to a recent report from the BBC, around four million fewer people are giving to charity compared to before the pandemic.
If you’re in a position to give, no matter how much, we would be incredibly grateful.
£10
pays for a hoof trim for one of our ponies
£25
buys enough fuel to run our quad bike for the day
£40
fills 10 pig beds with cosy straw
£100
provides a days’ worth of pain relief for our elderly animals
£200
covers the yearly cost of caring for a chicken
For us, regular giving is truly vital. It helps us plan ahead, care for the animals we’ve already rescued, and make space for the ones still waiting for help. It gives us the stability we need to carry on doing what we do best.
If a regular gift isn’t possible, one-off donations are just as valuable. Every pound goes directly towards food, shelter, and medical care for the animals who rely on us every single day.
If now’s not the right time, we understand – there are still lots of FREE and simple ways you can support us that make a real difference. Click here to find out more.
